Day 1/Arrival in Marrakech:
Our eight-day tour begins in Marrakech as soon as you arrive. Our tour guide will greet you and take you to your hotel or riad. Marrakech is known as the Red City for being more vibrant than other Moroccan cities. After arriving at your hotel or other accommodation, you'll have the rest of the day to explore. Wander through the narrow alleyways of the old city, meet tourists and locals, and enjoy the lively dances, the snake charmers' calls, and the food vendors in the famous Jemaa el-Fna square. In the evening, enjoy a Moroccan dinner at one of its restaurants, then return to your hotel for the night. Afterward, you'll be captivated by Marrakech's atmosphere and the constant activity of its streets, brimming with an Eastern spirit. Indeed, the city blends tradition and modernity, making it the perfect start to your trip.
Day 02 /Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate:
For the second day of your 8 days tour from Marrakech, we drive to the High Atlas Mountains passing by the Tizi-N-Tichka pass on the way. The route provides spectacular views of mountains and Berber peoples’ homes and terraced fields on the slopes of the mountains. Our first attraction is the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – a stunning site included in the list of World Heritage by UNESCO. Alas, this beautiful kasbah has not only been used as a backdrop to such motion pictures as the Gladiator, but also represents Morocco’s history. Then we proceed to Ouarzazate often referred to as the “Gateway to the Desert” and famous for its studios. At this place you can learn about the history of the occupation visiting the Atlas studios and the Taourirt Kasbah. Last but not the least, you will take dinner and an over night accommodation at Ouarzazate.
Also, this day is a suitable combination of historical study and the instances of geographical phenomena. Also there will be an accompanied interesting sightseeing during the journey towards the mountains.
Day 03 /Ouarzazate – Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga:
On the third day of this 8 days tour from Marrakech, we go from Ouarzazate and then through the striking Dalles of Dades where we encounter the painted stones known as the ‘Monkey toes’. We proceed to the Todra Gorges,Todra Gorges is a bewildering canyon that houses red Rock giants. You may go for a walk along the river and admire the size of the gorges here to the fullest. Then we drive towards Merzouga where the immense desert of Sahara lands us. During arrival you disembark and transfer to camels where you proceed for a cultural sunset trek on the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. This will be succeeded by a night in an exclusive desert camp with oriental Berber music in the campfire. In fact, you will not believe that the patterned night sky and absolute silence of the desert include the same notion.
As such, we will transport you from the mountains to the desert in what might arguably be Morocco’s most diverse day.
Day 04 /Exploring Merzouga:
Just to stay awake and see sunrise over the Sahara is one of the experiences I have never wished to miss. Later, you’ll have your breakfast at the camping then start your foot tour around the Merzouga zone. It is a region of many attractions such as the eyeliner mine, the fossil grounds, and wonderful oasis. Further you will follow a local nomad’s family and witness the traditional way of their living. There, we can attend a show of Gnaoua music style that originated in sub-Saharan area and define ourselves in the village of Khamlia. Later as in the afternoon, we will visit the palm groves and the wild Merzouga lake called the Flamingo lake. Dinner and overnight accommodation will be at comfortable hotel in Merzouga.
In addition, this day gives a cultural and an aesthetic view of the life in the desert regions of Sahara.
Day 05 /Merzouga – Erfoud – Midelt – Ifrane – Fes:
Our journey for the fifth day entails a visit by car from Merzouga to Fes through Erfoud palm grove and Ziz valley. then we have a lunch break at Midelt and then head to our next destination through the Middle Atlas Mountain. We then go to the cedar forests near Azrou where one can feed the Barbery monkeys In the area and enjoy the serenity. It’s then on to Ifrane, which has a predominantly European feel and a reputation for a climate that is cooler than the rest of Moroccan, with the nickname of ‘the Switzerland of Morocco’. Last we end in Fes where you will be transferred to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Indeed, there is a complete exchange of geographical terrains on this day from the desert to the mountains.
Day 06 /Exploring Fes:
In the morning after the breakfast we shall proceed for a full day tour of Fes which is one of the oldest medieval city in the world. It is a world heritage site town and prides itself in a wealth of history and architecture. First we stop by the gates of the Royal Palace then stroll through the medina starting with the Bab Boujloud, the blue gate. We will then proceed to the Medrasa Bouanania, the Nejjarine Fountain, and the ancient tannery of leather goods with natural colours. Additionally, we will visit the Quaraouine Mosque and University, it is the oldest university in the whole world. Last of all, we will go into the Jewish area to see the Jewish architecture style also, Khazar fortress for the breathtaking view of the city. The day ends with dinner in your riad.
Of course, Fes is a historical and culturally interesting city that provides the traditional feeling of Morocco; hence, visiting Fes is a must.
Day 07 / Fes to Casablanca:
In the morning we depart Fes and drive to Casablanca which is the largest and the economic capital of Morocco. When in Casablanca, we will look at the massive Hassan II Mosque, which is one of the world’s largest mosques. It includes a tall minaret and magnificent structures and is therefore an interesting place to visit. Also, you will have some leisure time to visit the area along the coast, Corniche in particular as well as to feel the pulse of this rapidly developing city. Finally, you will have a dinner then spend the night at casablanca.
Day 08 /Departure from Casablanca:
The 8 day tour comes to an end with an airport drop off after which you can take your flight home. If there is spare time you could do some more sightseeing before heading to the airport in Casablanca.
